The Wobenzym® N Product Line
The Far-Reaching Benefits of Wobenzym N
Wobenzym N is a unique blend of systemic enzymes that provides temporary muscle pain relief, and chronic pain relief due to everyday activity. It supports sport injury recovery, health circulation and the body's natural inflammation response, which leads to increased flexibility. This product also helps with Rheumatism Muscular Fibromyalgia and supports improved mobility and overall joint and tendon health as well.
Enzymes are fascinating essential biological catalysts that are involved in almost every single process in the body. They initiate millions of chemical reactions every second in the human body, so it is easy to see why supplementing with systemic enzymes can have far-reaching benefits to the human body.
The enzyme blend in Wobenzym N contains the following, clinically studied enzymes: pancreatin, papain, bromelain, trypsin, and chymotrypsin. Each one of these is a protease, which simply means that they break down proteins.
There are certain proteins in the body that stimulate inflammation and others that repress it. Under normal circumstances, your body balances the two, but sometimes physical activity disrupts that balance, leading to pain and swelling. Wobenzym N supports the balancing process, assisting normal inflammation response that in turn, leads to temporary relief from aches and pains caused by everyday activity.
And of course, Wobenzym N tablets are enteric coated to ensure that the enzymes are protected and allow them to reach the small intestine, where absorption occurs so the body can use them.
The Healthful Effects of Wobenzym N Include:
- Supporting the body's natural inflammation response
- Increasing flexibility and mobility
- Supporting joint and tendon health
- Temporary relief from aches, pains and muscle soreness due to everyday activity
Wobenzym N works holistically — throughout your entire body — to support your body's natural response to inflammation. While inflammation in the body is a normal and natural response, the aches, pains and muscle soreness that often accompany it can keep you from living the active lifestyle you desire. Experiencing extraordinary health is all about helping the body achieve homeostasis — a dynamic state of balance.
If you want to take control of your life and live it on your terms, choose the brand that has been trusted by millions worldwide for decades — choose Wobenzym N.

Bobbi Gale Bensman, nationally ranked among the top three rock climbers from 1987 to 1995 and a winner of more than 20 national competitions, knows all about sports injuries and soreness. Here is what she had to say about Wobenzym:
"Being a competitive and intense athlete, I think that enzymes, especially Wobenzym N, are essential to take daily. Enzymes are remarkable for enhancing my energy levels and healing from injuries. When I am run down or have sprains, tendon or joint problems, I'll increase my dosage and come back even quicker. I just took a trip to Australia in April and May. I was hiking down a really steep hill and twisted my ankle. I had run out of my Wobenzym N and the injury lasted for a month. When I arrived home, the first thing I did was to start taking five tablets on an empty stomach two to three times a day. Once I was using Wobenzym N, the swelling and soreness disappeared within a few days. Let me tell you from my own personal experience: enzymes work better than ibuprofen and without side effects, which is important to a competitive athlete like me. But there are a lot of other reasons I take Wobenzym N daily. The formula is great for digestion and enhancing my resistance to colds and the flu. Wobenzym N is just a great product all around for making your body work better."
Doctors Discuss Wobenzym
"Studies that support Wobenzym N are solid. They have been published in a wide range of peer-reviewed journals. The bottom line is that enzyme therapy is safe and as effective as the use of NSAIDs but without the long-term side effects. If you desire the very best therapy for sports injuries, Wobenzym N is essential. I personally think enzyme mixtures, particularly Wobenzym N, are an extremely important part of sports medicine and recommend them to all of my patients who are suffering inflammatory disorders."
Raul Ahumada, M.D.
"Having thoroughly researched enzymes, including publishing my doctoral dissertation on enzymes, I highly recommend their use for all types of traumas, including sports injuries. Enzymes enable sports doctors to safely and effectively stimulate the healing process in their patients while relieving soreness and inflammation."
Albert Lind, M.D.
"Enzymes play an important role in healing sports injuries by mediating the inflammatory process, enhancing and hastening the removal of fibrin and other clotting factors."
Rudolf Kunze, Ph.D.
"Some feel that enzyme mixtures are superior [to many medically prescribed drugs] because of their comparable efficacy, but minimal side effects."
Tony Cichoke, D.C.
1) Joint Health
In the United States alone, approximately 50 million adults suffer from some form of joint pain. For many people, everyday activity causes stress on joints, leading to aches and discomfort. Left unchecked, that discomfort can seriously affect quality of life, so it's beneficial to try to get the problem under control. That's where Wobenzym N comes in.
Wobenzym N has been shown in studies to be an effective means of combating joint pain. The systemic enzyme support provided by Wobenzym N controls the inflammation that leads to pain, soreness, and mobility challenges.
Inflammation is a complex biological process whereby the body's white blood cells and chemicals provide protection from infection and foreign substances. It is a protective attempt by the body to remove the injurious substance and to initiate the healing process. As such, inflammation is part of the regenerative process and a necessary and natural function of the body. Without inflammation, wounds and infections would never heal, and there would be destruction of tissue.
In some conditions, however, the body's immune system inappropriately triggers an inflammatory response when there is nothing to fight off. During these autoimmune situations, the body's normally protective immune system can damage its own tissue. The ability of the immune system to cause too much inflammation and actually damage the tissue instead of helping it to heal is the reason the inflammation process must be tightly regulated by the body. The goal is not to stop inflammation, but to restore it back to normal.
The five clinical characteristic signs of inflammation are redness, heat, swelling, pain, and loss of function. Excessive or chronic inflammation also results in increased biomarkers of inflammation, which in turn is associated with increased morbidity and mortality.
Wobenzym is able to reduce inflammation through its use of systemic enzymes. The systemic enzymes consist of a combination of animal enzymes, plant enzymes and rutosid. These ingredients are delivered through tablets that have a special enteric coating that can withstand the acid environment in the stomach, which is important since enzymes can be damaged by stomach acid. Once the tablet has passed a safe distance from the stomach acids, the tablet then dissolves and the enzymes are efficiently absorbed by the mucosal membrane of the intestine.
Systemic enzyme support attenuates the characteristic signs of inflammation in a broad range of tissues and is able to restore healthy levels of biomarkers associated with inflammation. The progressive inflammation, autoimmune, or immuno-deficient component of many conditions is ameliorated through the actions of systemic enzyme support, resulting in decreased risk of disease and improved quality of life.
3) Sports and Exercise Injuries
Both Boris Becker and Steffi Graf, two of Germany's leading internationally recognized tennis stars, use Wobenzym N to help battle the aches and pains of sports injuries. Even more incredible, the German and Austrian Olympic teams ordered one million Wobenzym N tablets for the 1998 Winter Olympics. The reason behind this is simply because they wanted to win, and combination oral enzymes can offer a super competitive edge in the sports field.
The majority of sports and exercise injuries are usually one of two things. Either contusions involving injuries just below the surface of the skin, or sprains in which the ligaments around a joint are injured. In almost all cases, if you are injured, initial therapy should consist of a series of first cooling, then compression, and last sufficient rest. After that initial treatment, your choice of pain reliever is key to whether your injury will continue to hamper you for a while or will quickly heal.
Typically, a doctor may prescribe a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or another type of pain reliever, for sports and exercise injuries, especially when there is inflammation involved. NSAIDs work well for quickly relieving pain and inflammation, and people generally can safely use NSAIDs for up to a few days at a time. However, when these same NSAIDs are used chronically, these medications can have many severe complications. NSAIDs are irritating to the stomach, and based on lots of clinical experience, they will cause microscopic bleeding after only about three days of use. This can even further progress into causing ulcers and other gastrointestinal problems when used for extended periods of time.
The metabolism of the cartilage may be impaired and the degenerative process accelerated using these NSAID drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen. If your pain is severe, aspirin or ibuprofen can be used, but this should only be for a short while, up to around three days. Then it would be best to switch over to enzymes such as Wobenzym N.
In Germany as elsewhere in Europe, sports medicine doctors have discovered a natural, safer pathway for healing sports and exercise related injuries. For athletes that are always sore days after their workout, a quality enzyme mixture is by far the superior choice for safety and reducing inflammation.
Enzymes are one of the most powerful, yet little known secrets that are currently available to American consumers who are concerned with reducing inflammation and speeding up the recovery process from sports injuries. Enzymes are often recommended to athletes over any other type of pain reliever because they work so well and are so safe.
In 1979, Wobenzym N was tested on 45 people who had sustained significant sports injuries. Doses ranging from three to ten enteric coated tablets were given to each, and substantial improvement was seen in each of them. In a second study, similar good results were obtained for 38 of the 56 individuals with typical sports injuries. These 38 responded "very well" to the Wobenzym while eight other athletes responded "well" with Wobenzym N enteric coated tablets. Thus 46 of the 56 individuals have significant improvement while taking Wobenzym.
Boxing may be the most physically punishing sport in the world today. Enzymes have proven to be more than a match for inflammation and pain in boxers. In one study, published in The Practitioner, enzymes were shown to significantly reduce a variety of injuries such as cuts, scrapes, broken blood vessels, bruising, and sprains when used prior to entering the ring. A boxer could benefit significantly from this not only during fights, but also during regular daily training and sparring.
Enzymes are in fact so effective that the American Boxing Association (ABA) stipulates that athletes should take enzyme preparations several days before a fight in order to subdue the inflammation that is inevitably caused by the head trauma, and to accelerate the healing process.
Similar excellent findings were reported in The Practitioner concerning British football (soccer) players. Among these players, the ones who used enzymes missed fewer games and recovered quicker.
Other good results have been found when enzymes were used for both prevention and for stimulating quicker healing among many German martial arts competitors. Athletes suffering hematomas, swelling, pain, tenderness and impaired mobility experienced much greater improvement in every parameter compared to those athletes that did not receive the enzyme mixture.
When the same enzyme mixture was given to members of the German National Ice Hockey League, it was found that injured players that took Wobenzym were able to return to competition more rapidly than those that did not take the enteric coated enzymes.
Sprained or twisted ankles are one of the most common of all sports injuries. In one placebo-controlled study, 22 of the 44 people with sprained ankles received Wobenzym N for a period of 10 days. The results showed that swelling and pain were significantly reduced and mobility of the injured joint was substantially restored more rapidly in individuals taking the Wobenzym enzyme mixture.
More than 20 additional studies have further confirmed that the enzymes contained in Wobenzym help to stimulate reductions in swelling, immobility, inflammation, tenderness, and pain along with helping to improve recovery time.
